Kussmaul Safety Lock D
The Kussmaul Safety Lock D allows operators of Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep emergency vehicles to safely leave the vehicle while keeping the engine running. Designed for police vehicles, ambulances, fire command vehicles, and other emergency response vehicles, the Safety Lock D maintains alternator output to power radios, mobile computers, warning lights, HVAC systems, and other onboard equipment without leaving the ignition key in the vehicle.
With a simple press of the supplied illuminated push-button switch, the Safety Lock D allows the ignition key to be removed while the engine continues to run. If an unauthorized person attempts to move the vehicle by shifting the transmission into gear or manipulating the controls, the engine automatically shuts down, preventing vehicle theft. Once the engine has stopped, it can only be restarted using the original ignition key. When the operator returns, simply inserting the ignition key restores normal vehicle operation. A pre-wired switch and connector are included for simplified installation.
