Kussmaul Power Distribution System – PDS-100

The Kussmaul Power Distribution System – PDS-100 provides emergency and public safety vehicle installers with a compact, efficient solution for power distribution, circuit protection, battery protection, timing, and control of onboard electronic equipment. Designed for fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue vehicles, law enforcement vehicles, command vehicles, and other specialty vehicles, the PDS-100 allows installers to add protected accessory circuits without interfering with the vehicle's factory-installed wiring harness.

Wired directly to the vehicle battery, the PDS-100 provides six individually fused circuits organized into three two-circuit load groups for powering radios, emergency lighting, sirens, video systems, mobile data terminals, radar equipment, and other electrical accessories. Each circuit uses an ATO/ATC-type fuse and includes a dedicated power-on/fuse-failure LED indicator to simplify troubleshooting and quickly identify a blown fuse.

Flexible programming allows each two-circuit load group to be independently configured based on equipment priority and operating requirements. Circuits can be powered only with the ignition, automatically disconnected after a timed delay, continuously powered with low-voltage disconnect protection, or continuously powered without load-group low-voltage disconnect protection. An integrated Master Low Voltage Disconnect helps protect the vehicle battery from excessive discharge, while heavy-duty battery studs and screw terminals provide secure electrical connections. Multiple PDS-100 units can also be connected using a parallel busing kit when additional circuit capacity is required.
