The Kussmaul LPC 7 Charger is a compact, fully automatic battery charger designed to charge and maintain single or dual 12-volt battery banks in fire apparatus, rescue vehicles, ambulances, and other emergency or specialty vehicles. Delivering a 7-amp charging output, the LPC 7 combines selectable Float and 3-Step charging modes, battery type selection, clean electrical output, and multiple protection features in a lightweight, low-profile package.

The selectable 3-Step charging profile uses bulk, absorption, and float stages to rapidly replenish batteries and maintain proper charge levels. A Float / 3-Step selector switch allows the charging profile to be configured for the application and helps protect batteries when operating under continuous electrical loads.

A Gel Cell / Lead-Acid selector switch automatically configures the appropriate charge and float voltages for the connected battery type. Clean charger output helps prevent electrical interference with radios and other sensitive mobile electronics, making the LPC 7 well suited for emergency vehicles with onboard communication and electronic equipment.

Current limiting, thermal protection, input and output fuses, and forced-air cooling help protect the charger during demanding operation. A load-activated cooling fan allows continuous operation at the full-rated output while minimizing unnecessary fan operation. The charger status indicator changes color according to charger output, providing convenient visual monitoring of charging operation.

Built with a heavy-duty stainless steel enclosure, the LPC 7 is designed to withstand demanding vehicle-mounted installations while its compact size helps conserve valuable compartment or under-seat space.
