The Kussmaul Load Manager P is a precision low-voltage disconnect and timed load management controller designed to protect vehicle batteries from excessive discharge. Designed for fire apparatus, ambulances, police vehicles, command vehicles, and other emergency and specialty vehicle electrical systems, the Load Manager P allows radios, computers, and other electrical equipment to remain powered after engine shutdown while automatically disconnecting the load before the battery becomes excessively discharged.

The Load Manager P controls one electrical load through a heavy-duty 30-amp relay and combines voltage monitoring with an integrated shutdown timer. After the engine is stopped, the connected equipment can remain powered for 1 to 2 hours, allowing operators to continue using radios or computers without leaving the engine running. The standard set point disconnects the load after approximately 1 hour or when battery voltage drops to the low-voltage threshold.

A starter override input provides starter inhibit protection, preventing temporary voltage drops during engine cranking from disconnecting the connected load. This feature helps prevent unnecessary computer reboots and equipment shutdowns during vehicle starting. The compact design and automatic operation make the Load Manager P a practical solution for protecting vehicle batteries while maintaining temporary accessory operation after engine shutdown.
