The Kussmaul Load Manager 1HP is a compact, high-current load management controller designed to monitor vehicle battery voltage and automatically disconnect a single electrical load when low-voltage conditions are detected. Designed for fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue vehicles, command vehicles, and other specialty vehicle electrical systems, the Load Manager 1HP helps prevent excessive battery discharge while supporting high-current equipment with a heavy-duty 75-amp relay.

The Load Manager 1HP continuously monitors the vehicle's 12 VDC electrical system. With the engine running and battery voltage above 12.8 volts, the relay contacts remain closed and power is supplied to the connected load. When the engine is stopped and battery voltage drops below 11.5 volts, the relay contacts open to disconnect the load and help prevent complete battery discharge.

A dedicated starter connection provides starter inhibit protection, preventing the connected load from being shed during engine cranking when temporary low-voltage conditions are expected. This helps prevent unnecessary equipment shutdowns and computer reboots during engine starting. The electronic circuitry is fully encapsulated for protection against water damage, allowing the Load Manager 1HP to be installed under the hood or in other locations exposed to demanding vehicle operating conditions.
