The Kussmaul Generator AC/DC System Monitor (VAAFH AC/DC Meter) is a comprehensive digital monitoring instrument designed to simultaneously display critical AC and DC electrical data from vehicle-mounted generator systems. Featuring large 1/2-inch high-visibility green LED digits, the monitor displays six electrical functions on a single screen, allowing operators to quickly evaluate generator performance and vehicle electrical system conditions.

The display simultaneously monitors AC voltage, AC frequency, AC amperage on two separate legs, DC voltage, and DC amperage. The system supports generator outputs up to 36 kW total and includes two 150-amp current transformers for monitoring AC current.

Programmable high- and low-level alarms provide continuous monitoring of critical electrical conditions. When an alarm threshold is reached, the display provides a flashing red visual warning and activates the built-in 85 dB audible alarm. An output signal is also provided for connection to an external alarm relay.

The integrated hour meter records cumulative generator operating hours and is displayed when the generator is off. Password-protected service interval settings allow operators to program maintenance intervals and receive service notifications. A four-button keypad and on-screen menus provide straightforward configuration of functions, alarm thresholds, and display settings.

Designed for fire apparatus and other emergency or specialty vehicles, the VAAFH AC/DC Meter features a waterproof instrument face, adjustable display brightness, and a low-power sleep mode to help conserve vehicle batteries.
