The Kussmaul Euro Charger I is a fully automatic, single-output battery charger designed to charge and maintain 12-volt vehicle batteries while supporting continuous parasitic DC loads. Engineered to meet CE requirements, the Euro Charger I provides a 12-amp charging output and is built for permanent installation on fire apparatus, rescue vehicles, ambulances, and other emergency or specialty vehicles.

The charger uses precise voltage regulation to maintain consistent output despite changes in connected loads or AC input voltage. Active current limiting prevents charger output from exceeding its rated capacity when charging deeply discharged batteries or if the vehicle is started while connected to the charger. Its automatic float charging profile helps maintain the battery at full charge and ready for vehicle operation.

A front-panel ammeter provides convenient monitoring of total charger output current. Optional remote indicators are available, including a two-LED display that indicates AC power and charger output status and a single bar graph display that provides a visual indication of charger output voltage.
