Kussmaul Auto Pump 12V
The Kussmaul Auto Pump 12V is a compact, vehicle-mounted air compressor designed to automatically maintain air brake system pressure while fire apparatus, rescue vehicles, and other air-brake-equipped vehicles are parked or not in use. By compensating for normal air system leaks, the Auto Pump helps keep the vehicle's air brake system properly pressurized for immediate dispatch and reduces the risk of brake lockup caused by low air pressure.
A pressure switch continuously monitors the vehicle's air system and automatically starts the compressor when pressure drops to approximately 75 PSI. The compressor continues operating until system pressure reaches approximately 95 PSI and then automatically shuts off. The pressure switch includes an integrated 15-amp circuit breaker for additional electrical protection.
The Auto Pump operates independently of the vehicle's engine-mounted air compressor and can be installed in either a horizontal or vertical orientation to accommodate different vehicle configurations. Sealed ball bearings and lifetime lubrication provide dependable operation with minimal maintenance requirements, while the compact design helps conserve valuable apparatus compartment space.
