The Kussmaul Auto Charge 40/20 is a fully automatic, integrated battery charger and Battery Saver Low Ripple system designed for emergency and specialty vehicles equipped with a single 12-volt battery bank. Providing 60 amps of total output capacity, the Auto Charge 40/20 combines a 40-amp battery charger with a separate 20-amp Battery Saver output to maintain the vehicle battery while supplying uninterrupted power to auxiliary electrical loads.

The modified three-step charging system automatically regulates charging output and includes a one-hour boost stage for rapid battery recovery when AC power is applied. A battery type selector switch allows charging parameters to be configured for Lead-Acid/AGM or Gel-Cell batteries, helping provide the proper boost and float voltages for the connected battery type.

The integrated Battery Saver Low Ripple output transfers accessory loads away from the vehicle battery while the vehicle is connected to shore power, helping prevent battery discharge caused by parasitic electrical loads. Its clean, low-ripple output is designed to power radios and other sensitive mobile electronics without creating electrical interference while providing uninterrupted power to connected accessory loads.

Built for vehicle-mounted applications, the Auto Charge 40/20 includes automatic current limiting, reverse polarity protection, resettable AC input circuit breaker protection, and a waterproof output circuit breaker.
