The Kussmaul Air Eject is an automatic pneumatic shoreline disconnect designed to maintain air pressure in emergency vehicle air brake systems while the vehicle is parked in the station. The truck-side mounted connector allows an external compressed air line to be connected to the vehicle, helping maintain proper air system pressure and keeping the apparatus ready for immediate response.

When the vehicle's engine is started, a solenoid valve connected to the starter circuit directs air pressure to an internal cylinder that automatically releases and ejects the connected air line. This automatic disconnect helps prevent hazardous drive-away incidents, damaged air hoses, and equipment damage caused by departing with the air line still connected.

The Air Eject is supplied with the mating air line connector and check valve for straightforward vehicle installation. It is available as the standard Air Eject Only or With Weatherproof Adapter Kit. The optional Weatherproof Adapter Kit provides recessed mounting and includes a polypropylene sleeve that protects the female coupler while allowing easy manual removal of the air line. The kit uses a standard weatherproof cover with Yellow as the default cover color.
